Elis Hughes

Elis joined 9ine in October 2010 as a consultant and provides clients with both technical assurance and hands-on expertise, ensuring they are on sound technological footing and explaining what technology decisions mean for them.

Elis is a technology consultant with particular skills in the design and implementation of IT systems ranging from small single-site setups to large enterprise networks. He has an in-depth understanding of a wide range of topics including networking architecture (both wired and wireless), VoIP, server architecture, virtualisation, storage technologies, open source software and a range of operating systems. Elis specialises in improving clients’ technical architecture without adding unnecessary complexity.

Elis has experience working for large education organisations in senior technical roles as well as working on new build projects such as Longfield Academy, where he designed and configured the systems architecture for a move into a £26m new build with a £2m IT capital budget. The systems provided shared services for 2 other academies and supported a 1-to-1 device scheme using 1000+ iPads. Since then he has worked on multiple tablet deployments, either providing assurance that all key systems are setup and ready or configuring and preparing the networks.

Elis is currently working with the Stephen Perse Foundation supporting them with a wide range of projects including new wired and wireless systems, filtering, email migration, and storage consolidation.
